Young Researchers in Archaeometry 2025

2025. október 14 és 17 között egyetemünkön rendezik meg a 8. Young Researchers in Archaeometry nemzetközi konferenciát a HUN-REN CSFK Földtani és Geokémiai Intézet, valamint az ELTE BTK Régészettudományi Intézet közös szervezésében. A rendezvény célja, hogy lehetőséget biztosítson a fiatal, archeometriával foglalkozó kutatóknak tudományos eredményeik bemutatására. A többnapos rendezvény során a részvevők számos hazai és külföldi előadót hallgathatnak meg, köztünk intézetünk több diákját és fiatal kutatóját. Az előadások az archeometriai kutatások széles spektrumát ölelik fel, többek között a kerámiaedények, pigmentek, üvegek, fémek és különböző építőanyagok vizsgálatát, valamint a biorégészeti és geofizikai kutatásokat.

A konferenciát Bartus Dávid, az ELTE BTK dékánja nyitja meg, a nyitóelőadást pedig Koncz István, az ERC HistoGenes kutatócsoport tagja tartja október 15-én Communities, connectivity and catastrophes in 6th century Pannonia: Challenges and possibilities of combining genetic, archaeological and historical perspectives címmel.

A Budapesti Neutron Centrum és az ELTE HTK Archeogenomikai Kutatóintézet lehetővé tette, hogy a résztvevők egy vezetett előadás keretében ellátogathassanak ezekbe az intézményekbe, a Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum pedig lehetőséget biztosított a kiállításukban őrzött tárgyak megtekintésére.

Between October 14 and 17, 2025, our university will host the 8th Workshop of Young Researchers in Archaeometry co-organised by the HUN-REN RCAES Institute for Geological and Geochemical Research and the ELTE Faculty of Humanities, Institute of Archaeological Sciences. The conference aims to provide an opportunity for young researchers working in the field of archaeometry to present their scientific results. During the multi-day event, participants will have the chance to listen to numerous Hungarian and international speakers, including several students and young researchers from our institute. The presentations will cover a wide range of archaeometric research topics, including the analysis of pottery vessels, pigments, glass, metals and various building materials, as well as bioarchaeological and geophysical studies.

The conference will be opened by Dávid Bartus, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University, and the keynote lecture will be delivered by István Koncz, a member of the ERC HistoGenes research group, on October 15, entitled Communities, connectivity and catastrophes in 6th century Pannonia: Challenges and possibilities of combining genetic, archaeological and historical perspectives.

The Budapest Neutron Centre and the ELTE RCH Institute of Archaeogenomics have made it possible for participants to visit these institutions as part of guided tours, while the Hungarian National Museum has provided an opportunity to view selected objects from its exhibitions.
